Please Mr. President, do not let Haiti become a repeat of Katrina. Don't let the soldier be military, let them be human beings and aids, not controllers of Haiti.

Taking people to make-shift camps is a good idea in the short term. But where are the US soldiers in parachutes bringing food, medicine, water purifiers to the population this past week? The US has the largest best equipped military in the world. It has chosen an occupation with ground troops, not emergency relief. If Haiti's people are not receiving relief after a week, some may become violent, just as Americans would. Survival violence is no excuse to employ troops to force starving people to die without a struggle. The US has to stop blocking relief supply planes from landing at the PAP airport, ie Doctors Without Borders and the Red Cross. The US needs to allow the relief to leave the airport and be delivered. The US has to allow Haitians into their own airport. Is this war on Haiti or relief? Once the Marines arrive, turning guns on the population is not acceptable, no matter how desparate those thirsty, wounded, hungry, grieving human beings become, due to the inadequate response to this disaster.

Paper work must not get in the way of human tragedy. We must act now, from our hearts, and find a solution to this unmeasurable disaster for Haiti and all of humanity.

I have been trying to send a nurse and so far failed as the free Jumbo jet needs $100,000 fuel. The effort is going on to collect the full amount. Doctors nurses and medical supplies are pouring in but not enough cash. The situation looks like another Katerina.

This is the kind of thing that is obvious to anyone whose intention is really to make a difference. I fear there are those in power who benefit from these disasters as Dr. Stanley Monteith has made clear. It is time for us to join together with even greater efforts as Jimmy Hendriks said "When the power of love is stronger than the love of power, the world will know peace."
